Scarlet KIDS keeps kids happy and busy! A variety of activities and events are planned throughout the day and over the course of the camp season to keep kids stimulated and engaged. The camp offers weekly activities based upon a theme of the week and plans weekly, off-campus field-trips that complement the theme of the week. The campers look forward to each week's trip and are excited to explore our state.

In addition to theme weeks, other activities include: arts and crafts, science activities, special event days, fitness classes, recreational swimming, group games, weekly trips, and "cool" cooking and nutrition activities offered by programs such KidsFit through RWJ Barnabas Health.

"Special" classes are conducted once weekly and may include archery, capoeira, tae kwon do, gymnastics, or fitness classes.

Swimming takes place at the Werblin Recreational Center (subject to availability during 2022 due to COVID) and is recreational only; lessons are not provided. Children have the opportunity to enjoy swimming in an indoor, Olympic-sized pool that's heated for their comfort. Our non-swimmers must wear flotation devices in the pool and the Camp Supervisor will hold swim tests throughout the summer to ensure each child is safe. The recreational center provides lifeguards who are present when the children are in the pool. Program staff members swim with the children and facilitate games and fun during our pool sessions. Swimming is usually not offered during the last 1-2 weeks of camp due to scheduled yearly maintenance. Due to COVID-19 and limited facility scheduling, campus pools and swimming may not be available. Alternate activities will be planned.
